I finished another .
This is the fourth portrait in a series of four based on a scene from the movie "Umimachi diary" ("Our little sister") by Hirokazu Kore-Eda. It is of the character Chika, the younger of the three Kouda sisters.

I used Conté pencils, Faber-Castell Graphite Aquarelle and Derwent Inktense on Arches 300 g/m² rough watercolour paper, 56 cm x 38 cm.

The Kokinshū (古今集) was the first Imperial collection of waka form poetry, published in 905 (Heian era). It contains 1,111 poems and a cultivated person of that time needed to know them all by heart.

The Tale of Genji is full of references to this work.

A few weeks ago I wrote a piece called "Per Tiziana". I was quite happy with result, but now I'm happier. Why? Because Wim took the piece and made a great new orchestration of it! If you want to read the whole story, have a look at our twin post, either

This is the full picture which I cropped to use as banner for the blog post about my arrangement of Eidon's piece "Per Tiziana" (quickandtastycooking.org.uk/ar).

I took it one summer evening in Kyoto. On Kawaramachi Doori (河原町通) there is a building called Kyoto Bal (京都BAL), which is full of posh shops. Next to it is a narrow alley called Kitakurumaya Doori I found a window on the 2nd floor that overlooked the alley, and from there I took this picture.

A while ago, Eidon wrote a beautiful short piece called "Per Tiziana" and I made an alternative arrangement for it. We co-wrote a blog post about it:
