Reflecting on today’s positive and negative interactions at work. The main negative (a contractor hopping into our conversation about video games and trying to be the smartest guy in the room ) isn’t really worth a second thought, it’s really minor. And yet, it did take the shine off the day. Weird how that works.

I've been that jumping-in guy in the past and try my best to avoid it now that I recognize it.

Of course that makes me even more non-social, but it is what it is. :)

@DragonIV Thanks. Socialising is hard! Actively refining your behaviour like that is a really good thing, I wish more people did it (myself included).

@cbowdon Part of my social foibles are analyzing my own interactions with others to death. Some good with that, and a whole lot of "let's just not bother doing any socializing, it's too much work"

Then I forget the hermit act, do something dumb again, and rinse/repeat.
