A programmer just asked someone for advice on learning a bit about the signal processing/Fourier transforming that goes on around here, and that someone replied with “<long pause> Uh, I’d start with an undergrad linear systems book… Oppenheim and Schafer.” WORST ANSWER EVER, gods help the poor programmer.
@Dianora Thanks! I’ll look this up, it could make a good recommendation for people starting out. In my field, we have a lot of non-DSP senior engineers/developers rubbing shoulders with DSP PhDs asking this kind of question, and I feel there should be something shorter and more immediately usable for that crowd, who have a lot of closely-related knowledge.
