I played "3 year old" Chess the other day, turns out that since horces can jump and are pretty they can move how ever they and when ever they like. The goal is to trap everyone.
Communicating with robots has become an ordinary, everyday experience. We're already in the future!
@tcql I know this feel. I sometimes joke that I'm picking up English as a programming language. The interpreters for it are inconsistent and the dedicated hardware it runs on is unreliable, but if you can get it even sort of right, it can be a really powerful language. 😝
reminder; a big part of self care can be admitting how you're feeling. giving things a name helps you understand them!
if you realize "oh hey this amorphous bad feeling i have is sadness" and say to people you trust "i feel sad", then
1. you will understand what you feel more
2. other people have an opportunity to send you ❤️ or do something concrete to help

Dad just DMed his last tabletop game (in person, at least) for the group he has been DMing since 1981.
I'm hoping this group continues online. When they started, none of them had kids. Three of the party members are now the kids of other players. One of those kids now has a kid of his own. That is right, they've been laying so long they've gone no kids to grandkids.

My new favorite small contribution to improving life for those around me is to make silly faces at crying babies on the subway until they start giggling instead.
Huh, interesting.
Hail piled up at the bottom of the downspout...
Hypothesis: wine infused with sour patch kids might not be awful
Method: Researchers placed 6 sour patch kids in the bottom of a plastic cup, then added about 50ml boxed white wine. Wine was consumed by experimental subjects, who rated the flavor.
Results: Sour, but not awful.

(this isn't about any specific person or event)
Publicly calling someone out has huge social costs for everyone involved, including for the community as a whole. This isn't to say that you should never do it, I've done it, but it's not as simple as "I'll call this person out for doing [bad thing] and the community will be better for it and it'll fix my problem with them."
This means that any community where people feel like they have to call out every bad interaction will implode.
#rpgs for fun and.....therapy?
Huh.

sometimes I listen to high bpm dance music while I code and imagine I'm like a hacker in a club wearing a hoodie and shades while drinking dom perignon or something crackin' the planet
unfortunately my real life of figuring out how to sort rows in a table isn't even remotely as exciting
