@Averly in fact, creativity sometimes requires constraints to function at all. Many of the greatest works of art exist because of strict limits on materials, meter, or duration.

I believe in multidisciplinarity (real word?), but I've seen little real effort at this from the physical or life sciences toward social sci, & even less from engineering (though a reasonable amount from comp sci).
But I have seen many, many white males age 20-50 who believe that every other discipline is full of obvious problems they could easily solve... if they were to try.
The serious attempts to apply new methods to old problems are, of course, very welcome.
