The People demand a Steven Wilson 5.1 remix of Sowing The Seeds Of Love. Seriously, was there ever an album more ripe for a surround mix?

Also, it increased my output immeasurably. Name a band that has released 19 albums in 5 years. Dispensing with all that songwriting malarkey has opened the floodgates.

It’s funny - I beat my head against the music industry for over 10 years from the late 70’s through the 80’s, tried various styles w/o much success, said “fuckit” & joined a cover band & recouped my sunk costs doing that for 10 years. Then finally in 2012, we decided “You know what? Let’s just make them up as we go.” And bam, I was finally home. Improvisation is living in the moment to cooperatively create art as it wants to exist right now, and that, at last, is my gig.

Some sort of Russian prog-rock fan site posted a link to Carbon 7’s band camp page, and inexplicably, people are actually buying a few albums and songs. It brings me joy that the music that has come most from my heart is bringing joy to other folks out there, somewhere. It’s honestly what I think I was put here to do, besides raising Erin The Spaceship Builder.

My daughter is coming home for the first time in 2 years tomorrow. I’ll have 5 days to talk about NASA & space with my space geek kid, Erin the Spaceship Builder. (She’s an electrical component test engineer for the Orion project & is currently wiring the crew module) Stoked.

Here is a web page a college kid made about mammoths v mastodons:

I just felt like this needed clarity, as the two have been interchangeable in my mind most of my life.

So how do we feel about woolly mammoths?

Goddamit, I miss David Bowie.

Sadly lyrically more relevant today than ever, but holy hell, that band!

Good: OS 10.11 doesn't need much command line interaction.

Bad: I forgot most of the command-line stuff I learned when I needed it, OS 10.1 - 10.4.

I used to know how to change my MOTD - it was actually a thing when I logged in to a machine via ssh. I should look that up too. Also, I need to re-configure my router to port-forward to this machine so I can ssh into it from work, but it doesn't play well with the Time Warner modem/router that's upstream.

So I went off tonight, politely for course-- my wife was trying to describe someone attempting Bridge Over Troubled Water on The Voice, and I was totally “OVER THE LINE!” NOBODY is Art Garfunkel. I don’t care how damn good of a singer you are, step the fuck back. There is only one version of that song, don’t @ me.

This has been tonight’s strongly- held musical opinion.

Got roped into playing a new years eve gig with a bunch of amateurs who can’t play their way out of a paper bag... Plus side- it’ll get me out of the house, & it’s a caver party, so I’ll get to see a lot a friends I haven’t seen in too long. Yeesh I’m trying to be a good sport about these rookies, but we’re gonna suck. I’m spoiled.

Gotta remember these guys are Pro cavers one of whom set the Western Hemisphere depth record 2 years ago & I’m a diletante when it comes to caving.

@GibdoInferno You’re supposed to write something here. 🤪
