I told Mr Idiot that I just wanted to see it splatter but he was completely convinced there was some sort of subconscious message behind it all, like the spud represented blah blah blah whatever. He thought I might need therapy. I got detention, cleaning erasers and what not.

@hellojed Most of them were. I looked at 3 before I bought one & they were ragged out.

@Devils_Rancher @hellojed Eh, 1.8L 140 hp in my gt. GTS had more HP because of a different cam, I forget the details, but mileage is 39 city, 34 highway. Not bad for an old heap.

@hellojed Juh. They went with stiffer rings in 03, but they were still the 1.4L (I think?) so only faster than a Celica because they were lighter. Honestly, my engine is pretty sluggish until about 4000 rpm. Even with a new engine if it’s a dude-bro, you’d have to figure it was driven hard. I just wanted something economical on gas with a stick shift that was more likely to spin than roll in case of unplanned emergency maneuvers. Lucked into one that was in good shape.

@hellojed What year? How many miles? The 2000-2002’s probably had the same piston ring flaw as my 02 Celica- they burn a lot of oil. I had the do an engine flush at about 180,000 but it has helped, so far. Burns a quart every 2000 miles or so.

@Mainebot oh good god, I should have kept that mavis beacon teaches typing disc that came with my Centris. Yes, SSH. I bet good coders know how to type.

@Devils_Rancher Fact. Proud of the fact. Never been too proud of the face. Thanks, autocorrect.

Ok, I’m not a tech pro like a lot of y’all, but I’m pretty proud of the face that I 1. Knew my home IP address & 2. Managed to SSD into my desktop from 300 miles away, copy a file to my Dropbox & open it on my laptop in Ft. Davis.

@SeventhMagpie yeah, we do both - work on sections then tie it all together. We record everything just in case we get something good.

@SeventhMagpie Heart of the Sunrise is exhausting. We can usually only practice it maybe 3 times in an evening before my forearms give out.

@starbreaker one of our weirdest songs in called “Commercially Viable.” I don’t think it’s even in a key.

@starbreaker I make weird music that no one understands just to prove a point, & I’m not sure what the point is.

@starbreaker yeah, the cat’s out of the bag st this point. I get dejected & angry about it, as music was my first career choice at a time when it was a viable option, but I doubt we’ll see positive change for a long time. I can still vote with my wallet. Plus, I like owning my copy of music because I am an Old.

@starbreaker Andy Partridge’s (XTC’s main songwriter) quarterly check from Spotify last year was 12£ & some pence.

It’s a sick fucking joke. & they’re losing money? I hope they go under.

@starbreaker Spotify was the final nail in the coffin of the professional musician, outside of maybe 200 mega-pop-stars & I boycott it. There’s folks grinding out a meager living, but mid-level acts doing well are a thing of the past. Also, what the heck is the matter with a good old book?
