@DistroJunkie I just can’t figure his angle. What’s he mad about? Authorities are apparently in possession of an unexploded package sent by the same person, so maybe they’re close?
Austin: from sleepy little college town to “Kabul on the Colorado.” I work across the street from a fedex hub and we have 30-50 boxes delivered by them or UPS every day. I’m getting an uncomfortable feeling.

Trying to turn my mind back towards photography- I have a backlog.

@DistroJunkie We’re relieved, happy & ready for an evening of gazing into the glowing rectangle.
@DistroJunkie yep, things are good. Baby was a healthy 8 lbs 7 oz & is nursing. Mom’s in pain from c-section, but is recovering.
@stoof We’re just now home from the hospital. Everything went great & the kid is a healthy 8 lbs. haven’t got to hold her yet, but we may head back up there later when the daughter is out of recovery & in a regular room.
@DistroJunkie yikes- we could trade war stories for sure. I’m clean & sober 20 years, now. I feel like I’ve lived 2 different lives.
@DistroJunkie They have a protocol, & it happens a lot, so I imagine it’ll be fine, but the baby’s going to be uncomfortable for a couple weeks.
@SuzanEraslan I was quoting Spinal Tap, but it’s true. My improvisational trio tends to stick to minor keys because they’re easy to move around as you think of new ideas, but our most pious & serious recording so far is in D minor.
@DistroJunkie this one’s a bit more complicated- they’ve got to withdraw the baby from methadone :-/
@DistroJunkie So far, this one’s a girl, but mom is hell on wheels, so I’m not sure what difference that makes, but I had an easier time with my daughter than my son who got moody & clammed up at puberty. I think she’ll be in new-natal ICU for a couple weeks, so not sure how much we’ll get to see her at first.
I’m rolling down the hill to the hospital in a couple hours, my step daughter is having a baby via C-section at 9:30. Hugely excited about the kid, somewhat whelmed about the notion of being old enough to be a grandfather.
@SuzanEraslan I am the saddest of all keys, D minor.
I made a screen printing blog post for the first time in nearly a year!
Jesus walked on water. Jesus turned water to wine. Lord, let the whole damn sea be wine.
@pompomtom I find 320kbps AAC files to be good enough for casual listening, but I’m going to keep the CD’s around anyway. I’ve culled about 50 - mostly redundant stuff, like greatest hits & some burned from MP3- what was I thinking?
The news - I’m solidly into the T’s and hope to wrap it up this week!
"He Tells Her" is the poem I think of any time someone wants to "debate" whether trans people should exist:
HE TELLS HER
He tells her that the earth is flat —
He knows the facts, and that is that.
In altercations fierce and long
She tries her best to prove him wrong.
But he has learned to argue well.
He calls her arguments unsound
And often asks her not to yell.
She cannot win. He stands his ground.
The planet goes on being round.

@pompomtom Backblaze, Time Machine RAID 1 enclosure, 2 CCC clones, one kept offsite & rotated monthly. I don’t fuck around about backups. Plus, I’m keeping 80% of the CD’s.
