My daughter is coming home for the first time in 2 years tomorrow. I’ll have 5 days to talk about NASA & space with my space geek kid, Erin the Spaceship Builder. (She’s an electrical component test engineer for the Orion project & is currently wiring the crew module) Stoked.
@generica Yeah, if there’s one thing I did right in my whole damn life, it was being the father she needed. I’m awful proud of her. She’s been at Lockheed for just under 3 years & has applied for & gotten 2 promotions, blowing by old dudes who have been there for years, because she wants it. This is her dream job, of course.
@generica I knew by 5th grade. She came home & said “I heard you can dissolve a nail in coke overnight... & I want to try it & see if it’s true!”
We did a double-blind. 3 nails. 1 dry, 1 in water, & 1 in coke. Nothing happened, so we gave it a week. Nothing happened, so she went back to school & was all “FALSE!”
Most kids would have stopped at “I heard...” She’s also a huge Mythbusters fan - blowing shit up for science - & did robotics all through high school. She’s a critical thinker.

Her: Do you know why one side is longer when geese fly in a V formation?

Her: Because there’s more geese on that side.

My 25 is a pun meister. He did an open mic stand up comedy routine of only puns. Not everyone call pull that off, possibly including him. 😂
