You know, Supertramp had just a few REALLY good songs. @me if you wish.
@Devils_Rancher They had their day in the sun but it sounds old and tired to me now.
@DistroJunkie it’s surprisingly well engineered for its time, though & they knew how to play their instruments.
@Devils_Rancher As I hit the toot button, I thought that my two favorite bands of all time are The Clash and The English Beat. They probably sound pretty old to most.
@DistroJunkie RIP Joe Strummer 🙁
@Devils_Rancher For years I was angry at him for killing the band but I'm over that now.
@DistroJunkie The guys who tried to be angry young men when they weren’t young anymore are kinda embarrassing- maybe he intuitively knew that.
@Devils_Rancher I don't know. We quickly found out where the musical genius in the band resided because Cut the Crap was just that. B.A.D. and B.A.D.II were pretty cool.
@DistroJunkie I’m still not over Paul Weller breaking up The Jam to start The Style Council.
@Devils_Rancher Or Mike Peters going out in a blaze of glory, killing The Alarm.
@Devils_Rancher Or Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger killing the Beat. They're all still alive and will not speak.
@DistroJunkie Same with Andy Partridge & Colin Moulding from XTC - they both still live in Swindon but are just over each other. Neither of them are doing anything of consequence solo, either. It’s stupid.
@Devils_Rancher Andy Partridge is renowned for being difficult.
@DistroJunkie Well, yeah. Difficult enough to torpedo his whole career, sadly.
@Devils_Rancher I wish Mick, Paul and Topper would invite Tim from Rancid to do a tour with them. I think that would work. I'd pay to see them.
Octodon is a nice general purpose instance. more
