Pondering gaps in #sciencefiction.

If you wanted an entertaining read about a future that differed from this world in one aspect, what are you having difficulty finding?

A different attitude to race? A new default on gender/sex? A specific political structure?

Not saying I'll know how to write it well, but I'd like to push my boundaries in a way that produces greater social good if I can.

The debate on civility seems to miss that this isn't a binary.

The opposite of a good act isn't automatically a bad one. So, while being civil because one wants to live in a civil world is a good act, that doesn't mean not being civil is wrong.

Civility can de-escalate and build empathy, but it doesn't automatically stop five people in masks with bats; so instead of making it either civil or not, consider the nuances of self and situation then pick a reasonable response.

Apparently, there is a service that send chocolate to spouses temporarily abandoned due to the World Cup.

Strongly considering convincing my wife to take an interest in the footie so I can obtain chocolaty comfort parcels.
