So far today I have had two hours wasted by my letting agents and received another letter from Virgin Media that breaches my specific instruction that they did not have permission to write.

Which has somewhat faraged my plans to spend the day finishing a long-term project.

Can someone explain in non-loaded terms what ForkOff is in relation to Mastodon?

I understand the concept of forking projects, but this seems to have gone from something I knew nothing about to a vastly political storm fast enough that I can't find a mention of what it actually is that I should be taking sides on.

@Nezchan That could be interesting. A touch of Paradise Lost.

@Nezchan Yoink away; it's what the posts are created for.

@Srtolar That makes sense.

The story is challenging; but fun. Think I've cracked it, but I want to let it brew for a couple of days so I can come back to it fresh.

Unelmoija: The Timeshifter by Elle Boca

"Boca continues to mix plausible modern-day characters with a magical world that doesn’t rely on stereotypes, to create urban fantasy that is both fresh and accessible.

This novel is the fourth in the Weeia series. Spoilers ahoy!"

@Srtolar Yay for good grades. Do the rankings matter for anything, or are you just judging yourself against others?

I assume you mean the Tulane rather than Mercator Maritime Journal. Unless you are secretly a pirate.

I'm doing reasonably well. Currently working on a very short story (150-250 words) for a language training site, so as well as being a proper story it needs the structure and word choice to easy to translate into multiple languages but still complex enough to challenge a user.

@Annalee Three act structure is a critical tool used to deconstruct novels after publication.

If you have start-problem-reaction-problem-reaction.../...-change then that's a satisfying arc; you don't need to bind yourself to the strictures of Aristotelian form and the prescriptive theories that grew from it to have a "valid" book.

Bad Habits

Demons are drawn to sin like flies to rotten fruit. Knowing this, the vice monks each deliberately seek to commit a chosen sin as often as possible so that others might be spared the attentions of evil.
