With a selection of cozy sleuths, hardened fighters, and hard-boiled detectives, and a touch of the less than ordinary, it's got a broad range of protagonists with get up and go.

Pleasantly surprised by The Good Place.

It's darkly comic, but also has some solid philosophical bits.

And the main cast is racially diverse without either playing to stereotype or making a thing out of not playing to stereotype.

Gothic

Many centuries ago, the King of England offended Thor. To hold back the wrath of the sky god, the secret priests seeded the idea of complex spikes into architecture. But, as each Gothic structure wears away or is replaced, the wards weaken

Superstition

On the back streets of Bristol it's whispered that if you create a new superstition on Friday 13th, every time someone acts like it's true they take a little of the ill fortune that was coming your way.

Wealth

The last words of the Prophet Tarven were "there is but one coin of value". The Synod proclaimed coins other than the penny heretical & banned credit & barter. The war between those who build their own strength & those who hire carriers continues.

Powerful Liquor

The Decoction of Ptah grants a vision of a pleasant future and how to ensure it; how pleasant a future it shows depends on the material and emotional value of the ingredients destroyed in its making.

Silly Hats

The city of Boras is plagued by high winds. Winds that gust strongly enough to drag a small child into the sky never to be seen again. Yet somehow the Cult of Morbon walk the streets unaffected in their three-foot mitres.

Dancing

Your friend has always been slightly out of time with music. You didn't think much of it until you read an article about soldiers breaking step to avoid resonance and remembered your friend hit the beat once, the day before the great storm.
