I utterly support the right of #students to protest peacefully.

However, I can also understand why some #schools might be wary of giving them permission.

Schools are in loco parentis for their students so - even if the responsible staff agree with the protests - the school might feel legally prevented from granting students freedom to miss lessons.

Or fear losing a chunk of budget to some parent suing them for allowing it.
