Saying the problem is *guns* misses the vast consensus of "citizens who want their families to live" vs. "spree killers".

Which isn't to say the liberty of gun owners is equal to the right to life.
However, people have been shouting "ban the guns" and "constitutional right to bear arms" at each other without getting beyond the shouting stage for a long time.
So, maybe it's time we tried a different angle. After all, how powerful would it be if we framed better social cohesion in a way that some of the NRA wanted to get behind?
