1. Masterful analysis.
2. I haven't seen the 2016 movie yet... Are you telling me they renamed her Mira!? As in her name is no longer Major Motoko Kusanagi?! Che cozzo!?
3. One aspect of the GITS mythology - that most appealed to me personally - is that even though the Major is almost entirely self-contained, she does have quite a tangled web of relationships with her colleagues. At least in the Stand Alone Complex. & as seen with w/ Batou in GITS2 Innocence.
