@CobaltVelvet i wouldn’t say « Europe » is less on the spying side than the US. Or for that matter, that it wouldn’t cooperate with US inquiries. That’s the whole point of the 5-9-14 eyes.
Also, « Europe » is too broad a notion, individual countries still retain a large independence when it comes to legislating, so some are better than others (e.g. a non EU, European country would be less subject to legal pressure from their neighbours, or the US).
@serialised yeah it's not much about spying, more related to fosta/sesta things. and again, a "selling point". :p
