are we even real? have i really lived my whole life or am i just something that inherited past memories this morning and i’ll be gone when i go to sleep? you could argue that i’m simply a brain and i’ve always been a brain, but cells in the body are replaced all the time. i’m composed of entirely different cells than myself years ago, is my body just replacing my consciousness with another every so often?

@taiz let’s say we build teleporters, and i go through. does it just map out the elements and their placements in my body then recreate them elsewhere? if one carbon atom is no different from another, then what if you replaced say half of the atoms when the teleporter broke me down, then remade me? is that still “me”?

technical question: there are two ways of teleportation
- you physically move one objet through a wormhole (which is for now practically impossible)
- you have to copy and destroy the original
