making androids that are indistinguishable from people is a bad idea, people would literally just start ordering flawless robot waifus and kill the population in the process
@taiz even if you did give them “free thought” i can tell you as a programmer that that’s simply an illusion, all it would take is a jailbreak and suddenly people have slaves

either they get sentience and we'll have to declare them equal (or they'll fight for it, at some point); or they don't and then they're not slaves, just machines
@CobaltVelvet i guess it’s the latter since sentience is impossible (unless you were able to do some stuff with brainmapping, in which case you might as well just grow clones)

the difference between a human and an realistic AI at the moment is mostly size, and we'll eventually get there and beyond
which yes you could just grow clones and add implants for the cyber but interfacing a human brain isn't easy either and you may as well have worked on the silicon version
@taiz @CobaltVelvet Yeah we might get sentience in machines in the next 20 years but it's going to take a entire datacenter or quantum computer. Of course there is a chance it will be able to design and miniaturize it's own children very fast.
