i don't think there actually are many "talented, shitty" people out there.

in most cases i've witnessed, the "talented, shitty" people have mostly stolen the thing that makes them look talented or based their fame on an intrinsically shitty "talent" (as in winning with capitalism doesn't make it good)

And so often those people end up being more and more shitty and less and less apparently talented and I'll just be here "told you do"-ing for boosts.

anyway if you judge people by how much they earn or how famous they are then you're part of the problem

(not about Ginny, I'm not saying she's doing so)

@cobaltvelvet in the business or political context it is possible to be talented at screwing other people over in a Machiavellian or bankster way.

@bob yes, but that's mostly those who just do what others aren't willing to do for very good reasons, but it doesn't even mean they are relatively talented at it.

@CobaltVelvet After working in the arts in New York for a decade, I'm almost inclined to agree... but most of the talented, shitty people are cis white men with money, and are thus pretty well protected from discovery of theft or hackery, because no one is doing the investigating on the presumption that they're just Geniuses, Actually.

@CobaltVelvet depends what the definition of the two are, I suppose. I know people through school who are very good at solving technical problems but will talk down on you if you need help or are just generally terrible with other people.
