gdi now my brain is thinking about my twitter-fediverse bridge spec and im half tempted to write it up all over again
for now all i'll say is over a year ago i proposed to gargron a methodology to allow fediverse accounts to follow twitter accounts through linking an account, and a monitor program that would allow FULL TWITTER access smoothly, in-line in your mastodon client, without any user-centric intervention, fully safely privacy wise so that information is never, ever leaked from a twitter account, and the user using the bridge can maintain all their twitter friendships

@hoodieak I kept thinking about something like this for a long time and I'm convinced it would be such an effective move to help ppl move out of Twitter (I know I wouldn't open Twitter/TweetDeck anymore if I could follow Twitter folks from Masto's UI..)

@Eramdam if you wish to implement such a bridge, i will openly give you my specification, and if you pay me a few bucks on patreon or paypal, i will openly write the specification up into an article for you to use as a guide for implementing an ethical bridge between the two

@hoodieak Appreciate the thought but I legit have no spare time to do such a thing 😞 (But I'd be happy to support you on Patreon anyway)

However I think @CobaltVelvet did something close if not similar a while back with birdsite.link/

@Eramdam @CobaltVelvet https://www.patreon.com/hoodieak patreon since you said you would like it, and for some reason i cant find my way to the server information for birdsite.link? do you know how i could find that page to see how it works?

@hoodieak @CobaltVelvet I saw posts from it a looooong time ago but basically it was posting tweets in ActivityPub's format. But I'll let Alice explain/correct me if I'm wrong 😅
