Learning software development feels a lot like learning math to me. There seems to be a sharp divide between people who Just Get It and people who struggle enormously, and no one on either side knows how to bridge the gap.

It struck me that Mastodon might be some (many?) people's first experiences with a communication tool not run by a corporation.
This is the Notorious. It's a replica 15th Century Caravel which plies the seas around Australia. Here is is docked in Brisbane, however, if you happen to be around Brisbane in 5 days time, you can board her at the Manly marina.
Well worth visiting, and saying Hi to April the ship's dog.
