I’ve seen #VNVNation twice in the last 1.5 years, could I possibly be excited about their North American tour date announcement (tomorrow 1PM EST)?
HELL
YES!!!!
I’m already there. I’m thinking about what clothes to wear. I’m making sure my calendar will be empty. I’m hoping to god the show doesn’t land on a test day, because one of the family is going to have to “die” for me to reschedule. My alarm is set, and it will be set for ticket sales.
I’m feeling pretty... dorky right now.
Hold on... we've got all these fancy gadgets now... why hasn't anyone programmed a system so when you walk into a dark room you can exclaim "Aziz, light!" and the lights come on?
Gamma Cassiopeiae rotates rapidly. Escaping gas forms around it causing variations in brightness. The star's well known to astronauts who call it "Navi," a moniker coined by astronaut Virgil Ivan Grissom (Navi = Ivan backwards). The star is used as a navigational reference point.
@Jo I've tried them all by this point, and they all suck in different ways, unfortunately.
Like, I want a slick desktop that's nice to look at and doesn't have screen-tearing and all that other 1998 stuff. I want something that's relatively mainstream so I can count on it being supported and on apps/integrations and all that other stuff.
I dunno, maybe I'm picky. Years back I had all the time in the world for screwing around with WMs and DEs. Not so much today.
From Saturday - the Galaxies M66 (L) and M65 (R) in the constellation Leo. 0.2m telescope. 5 min L, 2 min each RGB.
M66 is ~31 Mly from Earth, M65 is ~40 Mly away.

is great, it will make you feel powerful, lightning in your veins, godlike, just like ~Prometheus!~
* chained to a chunk of silicon
* pushing a spreadsheet uphill
* every night an eagle comes and installs security updates on your system
Capitalism appropriates everything, you say?
For the last two years I've carried a honeypot laptop with me every time I traveled. I checked it in my luggage, left it unattended in my hotel rooms. After each trip, I did forensic analysis on the laptop to detect if it had been tampered with.
I wrote about my experience and methodology here: https://theintercept.com/2018/04/28/computer-malware-tampering/

I don't mind paying taxes.
I mind that I have to /do/ taxes because a bunch of companies lobbied to ban the IRS and financial institutions from just collating the data they already had on me and crunching the numbers.
And then some different ones managed to get themselves made gatekeepers to electronic filing.
