Quote from tonight's Pathfinder session: "I roll to NOPE"

Anyone know of a good widget to display my last few Mastodon posts on my Wordpress blog, like you can with Twitter? All I can find is code to embed a single status.

Hey, I remembered my Mastodon password after all

Today on Ways I've Horrified My Wife: I sang the opening lines of the Nuka-World jingle from memory.

There's spring cleaning, there's "guests are coming" cleaning, and then there's "testing whether my kid's cough is allergies/asthma" cleaning.

I never realized how many stuffed animals my kid had until today, when I vacuumed every. single. one.

There are so many things I should be working over in my head, but instead my mental radio is playing the Sofia The First theme over and over and over ...

@danielle Raising a kid with two moms has made me realize my culturally-ingrained biases in how I gender stuff, and how differently she does it.

I noticed I automatically referred to her astronaut and construction worker toys as "he", which is stupid so I made a conscious effort not to gender them. My kid, on the other hand, tends to refer to *everything* as "she", even after being told that someone (e.g. her doctor) is a man and a "he".

I now know enough about handwriting to be bothered by the fact that the title of this book of Spencerian isn't in Spencerian. It's in Italian Copperplate.

@tcql thank you! And greetings from the three kibble-fueled gravity wells I call my cats.

@Myrkskog The avi is actually a "don't put floppy disks in the toaster" warning, because I'm old. But thanks for the star and the ... Presumably non-toasted pineapple? :)

SPEL GUUD

... But who am I kidding, if I tattooed my knuckles I'd get COFF EEEE

It's strange not chopping my random thoughts up into tiny chunks. I used to chuckle when my students complained about having to write two whole double spaced pages, and now 500 characters seems huge!

In other news, I'm glad I can read French but I definitely need to Duolingo my German back up to speed.

My noob post got a bunch of likes and whatnot. Having a local timeline option really helps Mastodon feel friendlier to new users! It feels a lot less like shouting into the void.

Joining the hordes of "um hi just trying this out what do I do now omg its full of stars" posts.
