The EASIEST way to #translate #mastodon on iOS/iPhone...
1. Install Bing (yes, that Bing)
2. Open Bing, login to Mastodon
On *any* of the timelines, including any posts/threads you expand...
3. Tap the share icon
4. Hit "Translate"
It literally auto-detects every language you can scroll to, and pretty quickly translates everything to your default language, in-place.
Switch languages using the top notification bar link.
It's so simple.
@Averly Unfortunately, no iPhone ATM. I'm stuck on Android for a couple more years yet.
I'm pretty sure it works very similar on Android as well. There's the Bing Browser, and the Bing Translator. Unless of course Google Translate is any easier (doubt it tho).
I'm like, #feelingstupid for how simple and fast that was.
No more copy-paste or tagging that @translator service (sorry but this is just too easy and long overdue).
