@Averly yeah, you can use whatever strap really. the official one was sold out when i bought mine so i think the one i have on there is actually an old camera strap or something?

it's just like, it's quite small
which makes sense cause it's an A6 notebook pouch
still i can fit QUITE a bit of stuff in
i've never had it get particularly wet so i can't speak to the weatherproofness
i suspect it would shed water pretty well but a little might get in from the sides if you have a lot of stuff in there
