I think the Tusky client helps a LOT with bringing up the “early blogging” feel that I'm feeling with Mastodon right now. Like, I don't even have to wait until the end of day. I'll just open the client, verbal diarrhea in it, and SOMEONE will find it mildly interesting.

IIRC with blogging tho, that shit didn't last. We'll start seeing more commercial, “brand”-conscious people moving in, and if this place survives it, that early feel will disappear.

Q: Can I block all robots easily?

A: If they're well-behaved, add #nobot to your profile bio. See: mastodon.social/media/cjbb9KGh

what kind of monster cuts a NY style pizza (thin, floppy crust) into tiny squares?

I'm eating it with a fork and knife (I know!), and it's hard to get it to even stay on the fork.

Really instead of relying on users to put gifs behind a CW for people who are sensitive to them, gifs should just display as tap-to-play across the board. It's an easy way to head off the issue.

What do you call an optometrist that lives on an island in the Bering Sea?

An optical aleutian.

In the long run, sharing pizza, opening homes to strangers and refusing to (visibly) panic does more against terrorism than any drone can.
♻Look, I'm not saying ATMs are trivial to hack, just that lots of them seem to run Doom okay. Infer what you will https://quitter.no/attachment/977662

CWs aren't "censorship" or putting your toots behind some kinda wall, they're basically equivalent to lowering your voice so only the intended people can hear you in this crowded bar, as you talk about stuff that's potentially upsetting, TMI, or whatever.

People don't want CWs on "politics" (which really means "the news") because they're oversensitive and afraid of seeing the news, they read they news, they just don't want it to be a 24-hour punditry vortex in here.

there's room for many of us in this town pardner
