From Matt Taibbi's beautiful tribute to Roger Ailes:
"We are a hate-filled, paranoid, untrusting, book-dumb and bilious people whose chief source of recreation is slinging insults and threats at each other online, and we're that way in large part because of the hyper-divisive media environment he discovered."
Everything wrong with the WordPress ecosystem can be summed up in two words: "Visual Composer."

I walk past the LinkedIn office on 2nd St. every week to record VGHD, and every week I consider going in and asking the person at the front desk what LinkedIn is supposed to be for.
Odin (3-yr old Cavalier spaniel) just dug out and killed another gopher, dammit. It's armagophergeddon in my back yard. Ugh.
Scratch the no-Amazon alert; it's Chrome blocking the 'zon for some weird reason. Plugin meltdown? Maybe.

"At the entrance to the Berkeley campus, authorities distributed leaflets saying that the following items were prohibited because they could be used as weapons: bicycle locks, frozen fruit, balls, laser pointers, plastic water bottles, skateboards and balloons."
Weaponized frozen fruit, folks. Stay safe out there.
Hey China -- is it really that hard to get the ends of the tweezers to meet evenly?
@kensanata yeah (and thanks!) ...I do that on the phone, but sometimes I'm at a computer and would love to mastodon there and suspect I'd toot more with a full keyboard :D
Hopefully they'll eventually set the default in-browser behavior to manual refresh, or at least make it an option
On that stuttering autoscroll, I read somewhere that just scrolling down manually would stop the autoscroll but it doesn't. Sigh.
Help! Anyone know how to turn off the feed autoscroll in a browser?
I love mastodon but the ever-stuttering feed is making it impossible to read as toots jump and disappear every second or two.
Any tips guidance will be hugely appreciated.
@rw had that happen once, linear alg exam, "answer 9 of 11 questions," I couldn't finish 2. Walked out the second the 90-minute 1/2 way time was called (to gasps of classmates who thought I was a genius, which was ironic but kinda cool for all of a second) into blinding winter sunshine...and survived. Actually felt okay, like the worst college experience I could imagine had happened and I was still breathing. If it does go that way for you, just remember to keep breathing :D
Egads, I thought La Guardia airport had a lot of construction, but Montreal! Zut alors! It's like the whole city is under heavy construction. Amazing.
Ah, in retrospect, probly shoulda marked that as sensitive. Oh well. Better next time.
