And there goes the office fire alarm the second morning in a row. How hard is it to not burn the fucking toast?

Looks like I have just stumbled onto an onion made of fuck ups and issues. So many different layers...

I dream of a day when important requirements are not "phase two"ed by developers. Especially when they start to introduce more data cleaning work, which will become all but impossible to resolve permanently.

Watching doctor strangelove again. Shame there wasn't a sequel, I want to know if there was actually a mine shaft gap.

why is safari for ios so hideously broken

i'm going to cry

why can't it obey the w3 specifications and work like a normal web browser

oh my god

@00dani I hope you don't have to deal with iOS being helpful by wrapping any seven plus digit number in the DOM in tel links. So much annoying data cleaning....

@theartguy I know, it is a real tough call when you're trying to judge the point where quality of life has fallen too far.

@theartguy Yeah it does suck. We spent a considerable sum on ours when her kidneys started to fail. It bought her a few more months, but she gave us so much, those extra days in the sun for her felt worth it.

Apparently describing some aspect of our reporting as 'duct tape all the way down' was amusing to my boss. I will have to remember that line, could get more use out of it.

Why of course I enjoy learning to use poorly documented platforms....

Attempting to switch my brain back on for the only two days I am in the office this week.

Happy ancient Roman torture device appreciation day everyone!

@benhamill I blame the internet. Being a teen in the ninties, those concepts and ideas were not easy to stumble on, unless you were the kind of nerd who did political studies. Whereas now, everything is so much more accessible, it actually is a little mind-blowing.

@stefan I just get frustrated when I spend more time on doing something I am OK at instead of the thongs I am good at. It is. pretty serviceable language, especially when it isn't really my main one.

Funny story. Test sites for clinical trials where reasons for patients dropping out isn't communicated.

I am spending more time writing javascript than R, and I am doing less statistical analysis than some marketers. Can't say this is ideal.

Wondering why I was not able to find motivation during lunch. perhaps more coffee is needed.

There is this book called "Last Chance to See". it was written by a British comedian documenting a number of trips he did to see a few charismatic vertebrates threatened with extinction. However he didn't include the Great Barrier Reef. Given the last round of bleaching, and the high chance of another event (not to mention issues with crown of thorns starfish and run off) perhaps he should have. sciencealert.com/heartbroken-s
