On the one hand, I probably should've taken advantage of the power coming back to buy more Switch games instead of games on Linux. Blackouts are still frequent enough to warrant portable entertainment.

On the other hand, I don't regret these purchases. Iconoclasts is awesome and I'm having fun with Factorio.

Old sketches from last week, where I realized why erasing my pencils was suddenly more difficult after getting different pencils. (cw: nudity)

Now that I have electricity, though, it shouldn't be an issue. Do initial sketches, use light table to clean up with mechanical pencil on another paper, ink on a third. Because digital art doesn't have a monopoly on layers.

Over half a year since the hurricane and the lights are back on.

The last nearby genetator has been turned off.

I had almost forgotten what silence sounded like. I missed it so much.

Brigades are starting work on my neighborhood. We might have power back in a couple weeks.

For the people just following: We haven't had electricity since hurricane Maria. That's well over half a year ago.

Never come to Puerto Rico.

Crow quill and acrylic ink (which suuuucks, I want my India ink back).

I am going to slap whoever in this neighborhood spread the message that as far as repairs go, houses with broken power poles in their backyards are gonna be left for May/June while the rest of the neighborhood gets electricity back this month.

It's been half a fucking year. Don't tell me I have to stay in the dark another quarter.

Gonna get more ink tomorrow so the quill stuff will return eventually. Until then, it's just sketches.

Quick doodle because I want to get Splatoon 2 someday and felt like doodling a Marina.

Current mental/emotional status: Koko the clown singing St James Infirmary.

Local art store not only opened back up, it also decided to open up at the hours it said it would (last year you'd be lucky if the owner both showed up and stayed longer than an hour).

Thinking of getting a bottle of acrylic ink there once I have the extra cash (the one they sell is Speedball Superblack). Ran out of usable India ink for the nibs so I'd like to try out a different kind for testing purposes.

Maybe it's 'cause I use DuckDuckGo instead of google, but I cannot find any info on changing genders on birth certificates as an expat. Or changing it in a different country after renouncing US citizenship. 'Cause if that shit is possible then I'm switching the plan to move to another country from long-term to short.

I'm self-employed, a visa shouldn't be that difficult to obtain as long as income is proven.

And now I know that no matter how far away from the island I move, Puerto Rico will forever keep fucking me over.

"Can't change gender in birth certificate". So much for changing that shit before applying for a visa out of the continent.

> checks transgender laws in Puerto Rico

...Shit, neither can I.

Once again, the power company's working on the surrounding areas and ignoring this neighborhood. I'd be a bit more pissed but at least this time they're properly repairing those areas instead of lighting up 2-3 houses and calling it a month, so kudos for doing your damn job for once, you lazy fucks.

Maybe I should start making my non-art text posts public now that I have enough pics uploaded to this here space.

...Nah.

...I miss using the rig to post here. Mastalab is a good android app, don't get me wrong, but I really hate the amount of typos I have to keep correcting 'cause of touch screen shenanigans.

The fact that I've gotten used to living without electricity after almost half a year into this blackout is infuriating. The power should've been restored months ago.

This island is a joke.
