Alrights:
I see "vaporwave" crop up in my timeline now and then, don't know what it is. How do you define it, what does it mean to you, what attraction do you have to vaporwave?
@cosullivan Great question! It's a little hard to define, but it's both a genre of electronic/sample-based music and a sort of associated art. Music: lots of chopped up samples, 80s and 90s influences, sometimes Japanese pop, sometimes hip-hop or soul mixed in.
There's also the art, which similarly has lots of 80s/90s influence, old internet imagery 
, glitch effects, pop references. 1/2
@cosullivan I like it for a lot of reasons. I am a hip-hop DJ and love chopped up old samples and nostalgia, remixes. I also am heavy into making weird digital art and vaporwave is a perfect sort of medium for experimenting and working in weird memes and references. I've been getting into making a lot of vaporwavey sort of art this past few months :).
