I love it when the teachers realize the quirky things I do in class are actually linguistically significant and ask the kids (who often only notice the quirkiness) to try to figure out WHY I'm doing those things. For example, raising and lowering my hand to indicate syllable stress (which can be very hard for Japanese people to pick up on naturally) during vocab practice.
