@hcs @superruserr Nice, sounds like a very interesting lifestyle! I was thinking about some months of digital nomad traveling, even though I hate that term ;) So I can imagine living somewhere else (and liked it e.g. in the US) and it's tempting. But living in multiple places at once just sounds like stress for me haha
I was upstate New York, studying Computer Sciene.
Wow, I guess I got my basic #gnucash setup up and running now. Took me some time to really understand how it works, as I have almost no experience with 'professional' finances.
Hope there were no errors in my thinking and calculations.
Seriously, why does Germany have it's own online banking transfer protocol? I sucks big time to find a nice accounting software when your country using other standards (#HBCI or #FinTS). But does somebody know more about financial standards? Is there one that's kinda global accepted? I read about #OFX but that seems to mostly be an US thing.
@nunatak Klingt spannend, aber kannst du vielleicht noch den Link zum normalen Beitrag posten? Irgendwie finde ich da bei DLF Nova nichts.
@superruserr Wow okay, of course that's a bigger burden when dealing with all those countries at the same time.
I was just studying in the US for some time and, except the visa, there was not much paperwork at all. But visiting student is very different from being a resident anyway.
May I ask why you're living in so many countries simultaneously?
@superruserr As I'm used to it your perspective is interesting. Is it really much less bureaucracy in other countries? I could think of 'less' of course, but you seem to be used to 'much less'.

@doncoma okay, thanks!
@doncoma What does it say? Like an ad for their Marx seminar?

Yesterday I read an interesting piece about modern chat #UX improvement. That usually is no topic I follow but I thought about modern chatting and messaging a lot lately, because its so annoying.
Accepting, that there might be no solution that deals great with both main use cases, helps me being more optimistic.
Here is the link about the #matrix client #fractal and their recent ideas https://blogs.gnome.org/tbernard/2018/05/16/banquets-and-barbecues/
#Gnome is about to split #Fractal into two different apps.
It really makes sense to me, because I saw the same problem and decided to go for #Signal & #Matrix instead of two clients for Matrix.
There are more reasons that come into play, but that was definitely one of them.

Any podcasts that should be essential?
I'm sitting in the library and someone is using more bandwidth than their fair share so I gotta work with 200 KiB/s. Maybe that's an opportunity to think more about each step I take and if I really need to load that image, almost like back in the days.
@superruserr German Bureaucracy is probably not efficient but somehow works :D

German media is so phony:
Guardian: '#Israel retaliates after Iran 'fires 20 rockets' at army in occupied Golan Heights'
Almost every German outlet: 'Israel attacks dozen (Iranian) sites in Syria' 🤔
Been shopping for new plants to start growing vegetables this year. I couldn't resist to buy those bell peppers called "Redskin"!
