My new job's laptops is about to arrive this week and I'm excited. It took them about two months to push that order through internal bureaucracy, because I did choose a new Thinkpad when they were released and no supply partner had them in stock.
I get it, especially in IT service management, you don't want folks to do what they want so everything stays manageable. But it's crazy how much effort and time it burns when breaking out those regulations is necessary once.
