Wait what? I didn't spend much time to really understand #GDPR yet. But I got an email from Samsung about their privacy update, yet I don't use their service (anymore I guess?!).
So I went to Samsung's GDPR support site and want to apply for removing my data and guess what: they have 7 mandatory input fields with all my personal data necessary EVEN MY BLOODY ID/PASSPORT! What the heck? I don't want to give them even more data, I want them to delete what they have.
Is this even legal?
@Satsuma Okay, makes sense.
Do your know more about how to file a complaint?
@Satsuma I'm actually not really sure but I think I already found the authority for Germany ;)
@0x11de784a oh cool! Hope they’re able to do something about it :)
@0x11de784a no idea, sorry. I know its possible because a privacy activist from Austria (Max Schrems) has already filed several but all the articles just say generalized stuff like ‘make a report to your local data authorities’ which isn’t hugely helpful
